Our approach
We do not pose moments. We wait for them.
Photowala started with one simple belief — that the best photograph of your wedding is the one nobody asked you to pose for.
For years we have been photographing Bengali weddings, pre-weddings by the sea and quiet family ceremonies across Kolkata and beyond. We work light, we stay out of the way, and we shoot until the day is done. What you get back is not a folder of stiff portraits, but the actual feeling of the day — the nervous laugh before the mala bodol, the aunt wiping her eyes at the back, the sparks going up as you walk out.
How a day with us goes
No surprises, start to finish
01 — We talk first
A call or a coffee. We go through the ritual list, the venue, the family, and what you actually care about having photographs of.
02 — We recce
Wherever possible we visit the venue beforehand — light, angles, where the mandap sits, where the crowd will stand.
03 — We shoot
Full crew on site well before the first ritual. We stay till the last car leaves. No hourly meter running in the background.
04 — We cull hard
You get the frames that are actually good, not four thousand near-identical ones. Every delivered photo is individually colour graded.
05 — We cut the film
Teaser within a week so you have something to share while the excitement is still on. Highlight film and full edit follow.
06 — You keep it all
Private online gallery with full-resolution downloads, plus a hard drive copy and printed album depending on your package.
